In the heart of Reynolds, Georgia, under the visionary leadership of Archbishop Kelvin T. Melzar, Power of Faith Christian Fellowship Church, Inc. was birthed in February 1994. The ministry began with intimate home Bible studies and soul-stirring yard services graciously hosted by Betty McCrary.
Seeds of faith were sown, igniting a flame that would illuminate a path no one could have imagined. The ministry soon transitioned to St. Phillips AME Church, where weekly gatherings continued alongside outdoor services that reverberated with spiritual fervor.
A pivotal moment arrived in 1995 when divine doors opened, granting the church access to Founder’s Hall on the campus of Fort Valley State University. History was made as Power of Faith became the first ministry to hold weekly church services on the university campus, marking a profound chapter of growth and outreach.
As the ministry flourished under God’s direction, it journeyed to Jeffersonville, Georgia, where, in 1997, street services found a warm and welcoming home in the yard of Ms. Christine Hill. Even as its reach expanded, the ministry remained steadfast in touching lives in both Fort Valley and Jeffersonville.
With the power of the Gospel fueling its growth, the church began holding home Bible studies in Jeffersonville. The flame blazed even brighter, enabling the sub-lease of the Rib Way Restaurant to host Bible study gatherings.
In 2000, moved by unshakable faith, Power of Faith launched its first building project, acquiring a warehouse at 117 Bullard Rd. Using his God-given gift of craftsmanship, Archbishop Melzar transformed the space into an immaculate house of worship.
The ministry expanded further, reaching Milledgeville, Irwinton, and beyond. From 1998 to 2004, Power of Faith ministered inside Pulaski State Prison in Hawkinsville, Georgia, impacting the lives of thousands of women. Through early releases, family restorations, and transformed lives, the ministry witnessed the power of obeying God’s Word.
In the fall of 2014, Archbishop Melzar returned to Jeffersonville and resumed weekly Bible studies. The people's desire for more led to the start of Sunday services in February 2015 at 38 Cranberry Lane, where the church remained until 2021.
From 2015 to 2017, services were held at 6028 Miller Rd in Columbus, Georgia, as Archbishop Melzar fervently sought God for a permanent church home. The Lord answered, leading the congregation to its current headquarters at 447 Andrews Rd, located in an area of Columbus often overlooked due to high crime and economic hardship. Yet, Archbishop Melzar saw not the problems, but the potential, and a place where the love and power of God could transform a community.
Despite the trials of the 2020 pandemic, while many churches closed their doors, Power of Faith continued to believe in God. The ministry acquired 28 acres of land and a 6,000-square-foot building at 34 School Drive, now home to the Jeffersonville campus.
Under the leadership and global vision of Archbishop Melzar, the ministry expanded across continents, reaching into Africa, Europe, and beyond through the founding of World of Faith FOCAM and the Faith World International Council of Bishops, LLC.
In 2025, under the divine instruction of God, the church embraced a new identity and stepped into a new season of ministry, officially changing its name to Faith Land Church International. This name reflects both the spiritual territory the ministry has claimed and the prophetic call to build lives of faith, locally and globally.
Today, Faith Land Church International stands as a beacon of hope, purpose, and power, where faith is built, exercised, and demonstrated for the glory of God.
