Archbishop Kelvin T. Melzar, Sr., born in Byron, Georgia, is the founder and Senior Pastor of Faith Land Church International (formerly Power of Faith Christian Fellowship Church). He is a devoted husband to Lady Aja Melzar and is blessed with the love and support of their children and grandchildren.
He answered the call to ministry in October 1987 under the leadership of Elder Cannie Lester Sr., Pastor of Church of God by Faith in Byron, Georgia. During this formative time, he learned the discipline and spiritual decorum essential for ministry. His first pastoral role came in 1988 in Warner Robins, Georgia.
In 1994, Archbishop Melzar launched what is now known as Faith Land Church International in Reynolds, Georgia, with a vision to reach people of all ages and backgrounds. By 1995, he was led to Fort Valley State University (FVSU), where he became the first to establish a church on the university’s campus—a bold and miraculous move that set the tone for a ministry marked by obedience and audacious faith.
From 1997 to 1998, God opened doors in Jeffersonville, Georgia, and Archbishop continued to build both on and off the FVSU campus. During that time, he was ordained as a Minister and Elder by Bishop Mark Walden of the Northern Georgia Second Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ (1998–2002).
As the fire of revival spread throughout Middle Georgia, Archbishop ministered in Gordon, Milledgeville, and Jeffersonville. In 2002, he was consecrated as a Bishop by Bishop James Capers of Bessemer, Alabama, becoming the Prelate of Power of Faith.
In 2008, the Lord directed him to Columbus, Georgia—a move that was initially met with hesitation. After struggling with the assignment, he surrendered, and in 2012, he pastored Welcome Missionary Baptist Church until 2014. This season reignited his passion to fulfill God’s will.
In 2014, Archbishop returned to Jeffersonville and reestablished the ministry at 38 Cranberry Lane. That same year, he was blessed to assume leadership of International Healing Ministries in Columbus, Georgia.
On September 20, 2015, Archbishop began the 6:45 a.m. Prayer Ministry, which has since grown into a powerful movement. While praying for a church home in Columbus, the Lord gave him a dream of an Indian man and a red brick building. In 2017, the dream came to pass. Though finances were limited, through faith and divine strategy, Power of Faith purchased the property in 2019—a testimony to God’s provision through prayer, obedience, and “bizarre faith.”
In 2017, Archbishop took his first mission trip to Nigeria, where he met Apostle Innocent, beginning a fruitful international ministry. His work across Africa has touched pastors, bishops, and leaders, especially throughout Nigeria.
On November 2, 2019, God instructed him to travel to Hinesville, Georgia. In obedience, he went and met Bishop Kevin Betton, and as a result, Power of Faith Hinesville was established.
While ministering in Abuja, Nigeria, in March 2020, God gave Archbishop a word about "unstopping the well in the valley" during the COVID-19 pandemic. Faith made room for miracles—resulting in the purchase of 28+ acres of land and a 6,000-square-foot building in Jeffersonville in November 2020. Archbishop now oversees three campuses, continuing his apostolic assignment.
In November 2022, Archbishop was elevated to the office of Archbishop by the College of Bishops and Apostles USA, a confirmation of his unwavering dedication to God’s call.
Despite life’s battles in ministry, family, finances, and leadership, Archbishop Melzar has remained steadfast, allowing God to fight his battles and increase his faith. He never sought titles, but God has consistently chosen him to lead in times of great need.
In 2022, Archbishop founded the World of Faith Fellowship of Churches and Ministry and the Faith World International Council of Bishops to support and develop church leaders globally.
In 2025, following the instruction of God, Archbishop led the ministry through a prophetic transition, changing its name to Faith Land Church International—a name that reflects its divine assignment to build, establish, and operate by faith across the world.
